About Me
- LINDA CONSTANT ROBINSON
- Although my name is now Linda Constant Robinson, I have always used Constant as the signature name on my paintings. Born in New Orleans, I studied fine art at Southwestern University in Lafayette. Later I moved to New Jersey where I received my BA in fine art from Rider University, with further studies at Harvard University. I have been influenced by Matisse and Picasso as well as Alice Neel and the abstract expressionists of the 60’s. I paint using bold color to create spatial relationships and color schemes that are shimmering in intensity. My compositions also draw upon the subconscious using elements of mysticism and outsider art. The story in my work is one of color and bold design with an engaging iconography. My paintings have been accepted for exhibitions and curated shows at art galleries and art museums in Arizona, Arkansas, Maryland, New Jersey, and West Virginia, and may be found in private collections both in the U.S. and abroad.
